The Quality Management Process was developed to assist ASQ Sections in their planning and implementation of services and programs to meet the needs of their current and future members. It is a management process that emphasizes the importance of:
• Assessing member needs and expectations.
• Developing an annual business plan and operating budget.
• Measuring the Member Units performance.
Combining the Society’s goals of increased member satisfaction, loyalty, and retention with the Member unit’s own goals, QMP encourages Member Units to continually measure, address, and improve customer satisfaction by incremental improvement. QMP also recognizes Member Units for performance (based on results) through two awards:
• Quality Excellence Award
• Total Quality Award
The requirements for receiving recognition include meeting the Member Unit minimum requirements, developing and implementing a Member Unit annual business plan, operating budget, meeting all the QMP deadlines, and showing improvement on specific measures.
